Description

This is NGC281, otherwise known as the Pacman nebula which is located in the constellation Cassiopeia.  The nebula is roughly 9,200 light years away from Earth and stretches roughly 45 light years across.  It contains several visible Bok globules which are dense dark nebulae where star formation is actively occurring.

It is prime imaging season in South Florida with an abundance of clear nights to work with.  This enables me to go for solid integration times as is the case here with 19 hours of data collected.  This time I used a pure SHO pallet with no modification.  I simply linear fit the narrow band channels and combined them.  I was happy with the result so really minimal work done to this one.

Thanks for stopping by.
